WINSOR & NEWTON™ Artisan THINNER for water mixable oil colours has been specially developed to maintain the oily feel and keeps colours open longer than when mixed with water.
This water mixable alternative to the solvents commonly used with conventional oil paints produces a “leaner” mixture. Although water is suitable as a diluent for the colour, its speedy evaporation can make the colour thicken on the palette much quicker than conventional oil colour would when used with turpentine.
As water mixable thinner does not form an emulsion, there is less colour change than there would be with water.
