It
all began in 1953, when Johannes Gerstaecker started his company,
Johannes GERSTAECKER Verlag, from his living room in Eitorf. He began by
publishing educational and pedagogical games for children, which was
soon followed by a mail-order business.
Today, we operate in nine
countries across Europe, with our headquarters still located in the same
Eitorf, nestled along the Sieg river in North Rhine-Westphalia. Despite
our growth, we remain a family business—not just because a Gerstaecker
is behind every door, but because of the exceptional companies that have
become part of the GERSTAECKER group.
Gerstaecker UK Limited — trading as GreatArt — began in 2002 in Alton, Hampshire in the heart of Jane Austen Country.
After
trading online for over 15 years, GreatArt opened its first UK store in
the heart of Shoreditch, London. The arrival of the 8500 square foot
store brought a new artist's hot spot to East London, ready to be a part
