Schmincke Linseed Oil Varnish 014 is a linseed oil boiled with oil-soluble drying agents (siccatives). It dries and hardens more quickly than bleached, cold-whipped linseed oil or linseed stand oil and is therefore easier to work with.

After hardening, it forms a viscoplastic, water- and weather-resistant thin layer. Schmincke Linseed Oil Varnish 014 can also be used as a binder component for painting mediums and for self-rubbing oil colours. Colour pigments are mixed with the linseed oil varnish and finely rubbed in. To increase the spreadability, a little turpentine oil or turpentine substitute can be added.

This Schmincke Linseed Oil Varnish 014 is characterised by the following properties:

  • slightly viscous
  • clear
  • yellowish to brownish in colour
  • boiled
  • siccativated
  • available in various bottle sizes

TIP! Linseed oil varnish can also be used to treat wood or metal, as it can be painted over with any type of varnish.
