These Flat Soapstone Blanks are ideal for beginners or sculptors whose time frame does not allow a complete design from a quarried stone. They are also perfect for children to exercise their creative talents and imagination and promote fine motor skills.
The Flat Soapstone Blanks are available in various animal designs (and a pineapple) measuring approx. 7cm high by 1cm deep. For each design every item is almost identical, making these blanks ideal for group work and benchmarking. As soapstone is a natural product the colours vary from light brown to grey. These Flat Soapstone Blanks are made from relatively soft soapstone, ensuring the easiest possible processing with rasps, files, abrasive paper etc. If the stone is dampened first it is easier to process. Polishing oil is recommended on completion of your work.
