This Etter Art Swamp Lime is a pure white and very fine swamp lime, making it particularly suitable for use in art.
The general rule for swamp lime is: the older, the better the quality. This is because lime and water only react slowly with each other - it takes some time for the crystal structures in the lime to become finer and finer.
The Etter Art Swamp Lime was swamped (soaked) for 72 months. The result? Brilliant white and a particularly fine structure, ideal for artists.
Application:
Mix Etter Art Swamp Lime with marble dust in a ratio of 1:1 until a homogeneous consistency resembling cream curd is obtained. A hand mixer, for example, is suitable for mixing. In this case, the marble dust serves as a binding agent.
If the mixture is a little too thick, simply add a little of the water from the bucket with the swamp lime.
Apply the resulting structural paste to the painting surface. The painting idea determines the type of application: apply regularly or irregularly, flatter or higher, over a large area or as accents.
Allow the swamp lime to dry afterwards. The drying time depends on the thickness of the layer and the ambient temperature.
During the drying time, fine cracks appear in the applied paste. The thinner the application, the more cracks will appear. Conversely, thicker application produces fewer cracks on an equally large surface.
To fix the swamp lime structures on the painting surface, they must be secured after drying, for example with acrylic emulsion.
Tip! After removing Swamp Lime from the bucket, top up with water if necessary so that a layer of water always covers the lime (lime interwater). In this way, the product retains its properties and high quality.
