DERWENT GRAPHITINT XL Blocks are a specially formulated water-soluble blend of smooth graphite tinted with colour, in XL format, for broad coverage, bold marks, agile lines and powder textures.

These blocks give you subtle muted colours with a discreet graphite sheen. Think of the beautiful faded colours of an old Persian carpet, but with a satin shimmer! You can use the blocks dry or wash your work with water. The chunky block lasts a long time - it contains about as much colour as eight pencils. It also fits comfortably in your hand.

TIP! If you work on a fine-grained quality watercolour paper and wash your colours, the fine graphite particles settle in the grain of the paper. This gives you all kinds of subtle effects, granulations and graduations in colour and tone.

TIP! If you want to draw very fine and precise lines then combine these blocks with the GRAPHITINT pencils. Or try combining them with GRAPHITINT paint for spectacular watercolour effects.
