Creartec Iron-Effect Primer, 250ml / 500g
Creartec Iron-Effect Primer is a superfine primer perfect for applying authentic rust effects to a wide variety of objects using an oxidation medium.
To do this, the objects must first be pre-treated with the Creartec Iron-Effect Primer, a base dispersion mixed with fine iron powder. It adheres to almost all rough, absorbent surfaces.
If smooth, non-absorbent surfaces are also to be coated with Creartec Iron-Effect Primer these must first be coated with universal primer. This is followed by pre-priming with iron primer. The surface is only covered with a small amount of material with a soft brush, which dries within a few minutes. About 10 minutes later, the area is covered again, this time with an evenly thick layer of material. Brushes or wooden spatulas for flat surfaces are ideal for this.
It is possible to make the surface irregular. Iron powder can be used for this (see item code 40179). It is sprinkled on the iron base, but can also be mixed directly into it.
After it has dried completely, which takes approx. 60 - 80 minutes, it is painted over with an oxidising medium. The oxidation shows up immediately afterwards with a slight brown colouration, which depends on the oxidation medium used in each case. The final rust effect can be seen after approx. 12 hours.
