Chelsea Classical Studio Extra Pale Cold-Pressed Linseed Oil is an excellent quality, fast drying oil that brightens oil paintings and dries faster than industrially refined oils.

This Chelsea Classical Studio Extra Pale Cold-Pressed Linseed Oil darkens and yellows less than other oils and is certified AP non-toxic.

Linseed oil has many uses in historical oil painting: creating oil paint (mixed with pigments) and creating painting media (when used together with solvents, resins and siccatives). Oil paint is made by mixing pigments with a drying oil binder. On contact with the air, this paste of oil and pigments dries and forms an adaptable, firm layer. Linseed oil has been the most important drying oil binder since the Renaissance.
