The paper is manufactured to high archival standards. Each sheet is buffered with calcium carbonate to protect the finished work from discolouration from acids found in the air. Saunders Waterford® watercolour paper has a distinctive, random texture. The surface is treated with gelatine, which makes it extremely durable and scratch-resistant.
