The power from the socket is controlled by a transformer down to about 2V and then passed through a firing loop, which is attached to the handle. So the loop starts to glow. The fuel tips included in the professional firing station are easily replaceable.
This professional device has infinite electronic temperature control between 250 - 1000° C.
